Swedish Massage

$90.00 per 75 minutes

Swedish Massage is considered to be the foundation of a great family of bodywork techniques presently taught and practiced in the West. Using a variety of strokes, including kneading, tapping, gliding and static pressure, the therapist relieves muscular tension, everyday aches and pains and the stress that most of us experience in our busy lives. Pressure ranges from light to medium, and the receiver can choose among different massage lubricants, including food grade oils, organic massage  lotion and oil infused with essential fragrance. Corn starch provides good glide for people who are allergic or sensitive to oils and creams. The benefits of Swedish Massage include improved circulation, relief from muscular aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Acupressure

$90.00 per 75 minutes

Acupressure is based on the very ancient discovery that energy in the human body moves according to  patterns. Stimulating specific points on the surface of the human body can affect the entire energy pattern. Recent discoveries in physics, chemistry and the workings of the human brain and decades of clinical studies provide conclusive evidence that accupoints and energy patterns do exist and can be modulated by both accupuncture and accupressure. To practice accupressure effectively the practitioner needs to know the location of important accupressure points, the energy pathways associated with these points and the role that particular points and pathways play in the overall function and health of the body. Many thousands of years of study, observation and practice culminated in the great body of knowledge we call "Chinese" or "Oriental" medicine. To use accupressure effectively the therapist needs a working knowledge of the principals of this medical system, experience, curiosity and intuition.

 Healing Touch

$90.00 per 75 minutes

Healing Touch was created by a nurse for hospital patients. The therapist can give this energy healing  with the hands lightly touching the body or just off the body. Healing Touch is a gentle but powerful adjunct to the body's innate healing powers. It can be used alone or in conjunction with other massage modalities. It is appropriate for people who are frail or medically challenged.
